Why the motion sensor?
The Advanced Cat Repeller incorporates a sophisticated PIR (Passive Infra Red) motion sensor which turns the device on when a warm body enters the controlled area. This has an important purpose other than saving battery life: researchers have found that cats can become desensitised to the noise if they realise that random sounds are not associated directly with their presence in the controlled area. With the motion sensor, the cat learns to associate the noise with its own movement, and is much less likely to stop being afraid of the noise.

What area does it cover?
It covers a 120 degree arc, to a distance of up to 52.5ft (16m), giving a total unobstructed working area of (188 Square Metres).

How quickly will it work?
If the cats have a habit of feeding and fouling in your garden, it can take 14-28 days to deliver the full deterrent effect. 'Occasional' visitors will usually be stopped within 7 days. Of course, as with all methods involving animal behaviour, we can’t guarantee effectiveness in every situation, however, our own experience and the feedback we get from customers suggests that this device is effective in almost all situations.
If you have a dog, it may affect the dog if it's allowed in the same part of the garden. The sound doesn't travel well through walls and fences, so it won't affect a dog in the house, or a neighbour's dog. Will it affect birds?
Not at all - you'll be able to welcome the birds back to your garden.

Batteries:
Requires 2 x 9 Volt batteries or optional power supply (not included). Battery life depends on how many times the device is activated, but they typically last 3-4 months assuming 10 activations per day. This device uses less batteries than other repellers but lasts just as long. Batteries aren't supplied as standard, but we can supply (see options above)

"Although it could be too early to make a qualified judgement, the Advanced Cat Scarer seems to be doing its job. I have a security light fitted to the back wall of my bungalow to illuminate the garden when I walk down to the garage and back. The light also comes on when cats enter the garden. Since I fitted the Advanced Cat Scarer according to instructions supplied, I did not notice the security light coming on at all. "

"First few days cats & foxes were still entering garden, (althought it does say on the infor that it can take up to a month for it to be effective) I then put the fence and wall spikes on the fences and have not seen any cats or foxes in the garden. It may be a combination of both products that is doing the trick! "

"Both cat alarms have no effect at all on the cats I have visiting the garden. Initially wheb walking in front of eac sonic alarm, the screen would flash red. After the first rainfall they no longer do, which indicates to me they are no longer picking up the movement they depend on to operate. Total waste of money."

"i think this item is great it has worked wonders in my garden, cats come in and are straight out again over the fence........ although i have found cause my garden is on a slope there are areas it misses but nothin another cat scarer wouldnt solve. many thanks for a great item michelle x"

"At the moment the product isn't keeping away the Foxes or Cats. It says it can take up to 3 weeks for it to work but at the moment I'm not impressed with it"
