Overview

An evergreen perennial with blue-grey leaves and branched white flowers. An evergreen eryngium, which forms a clump of bluish-green, strap-shaped leaves that have a serrated and spiny edge. In midsummer and autumn, upright, branching flowerspikes emerge bearing rounded or oval shaped flower clusters, which turn shades of greyish-blue, cream or green as they open. A variable plant, which originates from the Eastern States of the US, it is tolerant of poor soil and drought once established.

Lift and divide large colonies in spring. Avoid the temptation to cut back the flowerheads in autumn as they provide interest in the winter garden.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
