Overview

Curious, pencil-like, bright yellow flower-spikes in May and June held above clumps of submerged or floating, mid-green leaves, often purple-tinted beneath. This deep-water aquatic perennial looks great planted around the margins of a sunny pool. While not invasive, it's best grown in an aquatic planting basket of loamy soil in water no deeper than 45cm (18in).

Care guide

These plants are potted up (using a suitable aquatic compost) into aquatic pots. These pots are made of a fine mesh, which allows water to circulate through the compost, providing the plants with both oxygen and nutrients. If you are using them as an aquatic plant, they can be placed straight into the pond, however they will perform better if planted out sooner rather than later. To enhance flowering divide congested clumps every three to five years.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
