Overview

Gardening couldn't be easier with this great seed mat. It's made from biodegradable tissue paper that has pre-sown seeds in it so all you need to do is roll it out, cover, and in no time at all the seeds will germinate and provide you with a riot of colour. Perfect for gardeners who either don't have the time or aren't really very green fingered. Seed mat contains A mixture that has been specially chosen, using annual, biennial and perennial plants to give you wildflower garden. Summer Pheasant's Eye, Corn Cockle, Star Thistle, English Wallflower, Chinese forget-me-not, Phlox Tri-colour, Flax, Lupin Blue, Nemophila Maculate, Evening Primrose, Red Poppy, Pink Catchfly, Peach Blossom, Babys-Breath, Common Daisy, Marigold, Rose of Heaven and Forget-me-not. Varieties can be changed due to seasonal circumstances. Planting instructions Simply roll out the mat on a weed-free spot of prepared soil and cover with about 5cm of sharp sand, top soil or compost, that will secure the mat. Then just water in. The mat will help suppress weeds and encourage the seeds to grow. To get the best results the seed mats should be used in spring and keep moist. Plant: February - June Flowering: Throughout the summer Size: Each mat is 200cm x 50cm.

Care guide

These bare root plants will be approx 1 year old. When they arrive, soak the roots in water for an hour or two, before planting out into a well prepared bed as soon as possible. If the ground is soil is frozen or waterlogged when they arrive, give them a soak and plant them in a pot filled with good quality compost until they can be planted out. Space at 1.5m intervals and once planted apply a mulch of well-rotted manure every spring, as well as a nitrogen and potassium fertiliser. Make sure the plant is kept well watered in dry weather and net the bushes to protect the currants from birds. In the first year, prune back to one bud above soil level in winter. After that only prune out weak branches.
