Rubber tree plants are happiest in bright light but not so direct that they might be scorched by the sun. A little way back from a window in a bright room is ideal. Originating from monsoon regions of Asia the rubber tree will benefit from a good drenching of water in the summer. Allow the water to run right through the soil and out of the drainage holes of the nursery pot, leaving the water 10 minutes or so to sink through before returning to the display pot. This can be done once a week in summer but should be reduced in winter. The large leaves can get a little dusty which can affect growth so just wipe them down with a damp cloth occasionally; this will also help keep them nice and glossy!
