140 cm dai-dōrō Lantern Garden Statue
Lanterns were traditionally used to light the way along paths to Buddhist temples and this is a particularly fine example, handsomely tall and elegantly proportioned. Originating from China but incorporated into Japanese culture, these platform lanterns began to be used in Shinto shrines and even in people's homes and gardens. The modern world has now adopted them to be used decoratively and they are particularly effective near water. Made from crushed marble mixed with high quality resin making it sturdy and suitable for indoor or outdoor display. It is also UVA and Frost resistant and hand-finished, ensure a unique look to each statue.
