The flowers of Trachelospermum jasminoides is arguably the most delightfully fragrant of any flower anywhere. It is no wonder we use Jasmine so profusely in products! Able to climb up to 8 meters and bloom in abundance it’s fragrance can fill any garden leaving the air fresh and sweet.

The small star-like white flowers which keep throughout summer are accompanied by dark-green glossy foliage. ‘Star Jasmin’ grown up a columnar trellis is perfect to be trained up pillars, over arches or to border a door. The hanging flowers like droplets of snow give a delightful charm to any garden whether pristine or reclaimed. If planting in the ground:

Before planting your climber, clean up all wandering weeds and keep a clean ring around the trellis base. Water well during the first year until well established.

Dig a hole 2X the width of the rootball and deep enough for the root collar to sit just above the top of the hole when in position. Make sure to position so that the trellis is aligned as you desire.

Once positioned, backfill with soil and firm every few shovels to ensure there are no air gaps.

Try to encourage the plant to climb up structures by tieing in or entwining around a trellis, arch or any feature of a the house that the plant can get a grip on. Once settled, removed the cane and allow to climb unaided. If planting in the a container:

Fill container with soil mix to the desired level. Then follow the steps above. You will not need to dig a hole quite so wide as you are planting into fresh soil.

    Caring and Maintenance

Water regularly until roots are well established. Trim annually from mid to late summer. Apply some fertilizer in spring in order to promote healthy growth. Optionally, mulch in spring.

"This arrived with most branches dried up, leaves falling off. Only three branches did revive after 24 hrs of watering. The amount of soil was minute and completely dry. Both items were Birthday presents for my husband, I was very disappointed to give these to him, also late by a day. Customer services response was very unsatisfactory and I sadly will not like to buy anything in future."
