1kg "Maris Piper" Seed Potatoes

The solanum tuberosum "Maris Piper" potato is the most commonly grown potato variety in the UK. It's a great all-round potato that can be used for an array of culinary purposes, and is rated the best variety to use for making chips. The creamy-white flesh of the dry, floury tubers rarely discolours on cooking and provides a great taste. The plants are tall-growing and produce attractive light purple flowers and plenty of dark berries. Originally created via a massive potato breeding programme at the Plant Breeding Institute in Cambridge, the key benefit of the Maris Piper is its resistance to potato cyst eelworm. This variety also has one of the highest yields, and keeps longer than most other varieties making it popular with supermarkets.
