A versatile grass with arching, blue-green foliage; perfect for creating winterly interest

Carex laxiculmis 'Bunny Blue' comprises of a perennial grass with a dense, arching, and clump-forming habit. It will form green linear foliage with subtle blue undertones, and, from late Spring through to early Summer, this grass will bear spikes of small yellow flowers. An evergreen perennial, Bunny Blue is perfect for adorning a winterly garden with hues of silver, blue, and green, and importantly creating interesting structure.

With its striking silhouette formed by arching foliage, this plant will add a subtle edge to cottage gardens, and it will happily grow within a container.

How your order will arrive
Please see our below guidance on your perennial or alpine's care:

  • Watering: During your perennial or alpine's first growing season, you should provide them with frequent waterings. Try to also avoid wetting the foliage to reduce the risk of disease.
  • Deadheading: To promote a long flowering period, you should deadhead any flowers that appear spent. Simply rescind each flower at their base, taking care to not cut other parts of the plant.
  • Dividing: To really flourish, your perennials can be divided every three to four years. They can be divided when they begin to show less flowers, or appear less healthy in the middle. Make sure to only do so when they aren't currently flowering.
