25x Mixed Native Hedge - Height: 60-90cm - Bare-root (Pack of 25 Plants)
A delightful mix of four classic native varieties:

10x Hawthorn - A deciduous, thorny hedging plant which responds well to trimming. Hawthorn is a popular choice in hedging as it is useful for security purposes as well as being extremely hardy. Native to UK.

5x Blackthorn - A thorny native hedging plant which responds well to pruning and can make an impenetrable barrier. A mass of brilliant white flowers bloom in late winter or early spring followed by small blue-black edible fruits in the autumn. Native to UK.

5x Field Maple - A deciduous, bushy hedging plant with attractive autumn foliage. Responds well to trimming but not too vigorous, so easy to keep in shape. Native to UK.

This mixed hedging will grow in almost all well-drained soil and prefers full sun but can tolerate partial shade.

This mixed hedging can be planted from November to March, when the hedge is dormant. Ensure that the area where you are going to plant the hedge is clear and weed-free.

Caring and Maintenance

Should be pruned in winter, just after planting, and for two years after that. On planting, cut back leading shoots and side shoots by one-third, cutting to a well placed bud. Repeat this in the second winter to prevent straggly growth and thicken up the hedge base. Then trim every June after that.

Can be maintained at over 180cm (6ft).
