If you’re planting to impress then this one’s a winner. The Yucca is one of the few houseplants to really enjoy its time in the sun and its majestic structure is always sure to catch attention. The long waxy leaves will shoot out in all directions from the trunk to produce an impressive shape that will fill a variety of spaces around the home.
Originating from the American and Mexican deserts your Yucca will sit happily in a sunny spot though it can tolerate some shade. Water once every couple of weeks ensuring that the soil is given ample time to dry between waterings. A general plant feed once every few months will also help to encourage new growth. Be aware the leaves can cause stomach upset if eaten so its best to keep out of reach of pets. Don't fret too much however as the smell, texture and taste of the yucca is considered unpleasant for most animals so they should leave them be.
