2-3ft 'Perlette' Grape Vine | 3L Pot | Seedless | Outdoor
Tasty dessert grape: aromatic and crunchy
A prolific white seedless dessert grape similar to Thompson Seedless but ripens two weeks earlier in mid-July.
‘Perlette’ is heavy cropping, producing very large bunches of golden-green, crunchy grapes, suitable for eating straight from the vine or preserving as raisins. Grapes have a mild, sweet muscat flavour with a tart tang.
Its name means "little pearl" in French which refers to its round, frosted, berry-like grapes.Fruit will ripen outdoors on a sunny, south or west-facing wall in southern counties but should be grown in a cold greenhouse or conservatory further north, where it can be grown in a large container.
‘Perlette’ grows best in well-drained neutral or alkaline soil. Approximate height is 2m (6ft) if pruned for fruit - if left unpruned, it will reach 5m (16ft or more).

- Dig a hole that is twice the radius of your plant’s rootball.
- Before planting, drench the rootball.
- Place the pot in the planting hole, making sure that it sits no lower than an inch below the ground.
- Fill the planting hole with a mix of compost and garden soil, finishing with fertiliser and mycorrhizal fungi. Take care to not compress the soil.
- Provide your plant with a generous watering.
- Add mulch on top, (whether bark and wood chippings, compost, manure, leaf-mould, and stones). Try to keep the mulch from touching the stem.
- Hardiness: While grapes originate from the Mediterranean and Central Asia, they are hardy enough to survive the UK's winters. However, they can sometimes suffer from frost damage. To avoid this, try to plant them in a south-facing location.
