Common Water Starwort - Callitriche autumnalis - Bunches

The Common Water Starwort floats on the surface of ponds, growing in a thick, oxygenating layer, providing shelter from the heat for frogs and other pond life. Producing delicate and subtle green flowers in the summer and remaining green throughout the year, the Starwort is a versatile oxygenator for any garden pond.

Pond Plant Benefits

Marginal and pondside plants add interest, colour and structure to ponds, and offer the benefit of delightful fragrance. They are ideal for places near to patio or decking areas, where their sweet aroma can be appreciated. The plants can be positioned around the perimeter of a pond or on levelled shelves for original and attractive exposure. Marginal plants should be planted in boggy ground or shallow water for optimal growth results.

Advice on hot and droopy plants

If your plants are looking a little wilted right now, don’t worry! Plants like to be filled with water to keep their structure, and when it’s hot that water evaporates.

Just give them an off-schedule watering and they’ll be right as rain in no time! Be careful not to flood them - plants don’t like extremes.
