50-90cm Clematis 'Picardy™' by Raymond Evison - 3L Pot
A truly rewarding plant when grown in a garden location or in a container. Very compact, very free-flowering habit. Therefore, a most suitable plant for container cultivation, for the deck garden, patio, outdoor dining area and outstanding when grown in a hanging basket, this variety being one of the best. It can be grown on its own or in association with annual bedding plants.
It produces its first flowers on short stems. As these are flowering, it is already producing trailing stems which provide more flowers.
Once it has finished its first flowering, it may be pruned back to 6" (15cm) and it will regrow and flower again if kept well watered and fed. This is especially useful if growing in a hanging basket.

- Hardiness: Clematis plants can be found growing throughout temperate regions, so are well accustomed to the UK’s climate.
- Position: Clematis prefer full sun but will suffice in partial shade. Evergreen varieties need shelter and herbaceous varieties need sunny spots.
- Soil: Soil types can be an unwelcome confusion as many plants will adapt to their conditions. Nonetheless, less than ideal conditions will certainly limit your plant’s growth. Waterlogged soils will starve it of oxygen, which plays a key role in photosynthesis; causing its roots to rot and creating an optimal environment for disease.
- Pots: Choose a pot that is around 50cm deep and be sure to apply mulch. When the weather warms up, make sure that you water your clematis regularly.
