Coming from tropical regions in the Americas the Clusia Princess is an excellent variety of houseplant that's great for beginners. A beautiful ornamental tree that can add interest to any space. It is classified as an invasive species for its tendency to crawl and grow over other plants, strangling them in the process... thankfully when potted on their own they do not need this natural behaviour! The thick leaves are similar in appearance to succulents and the leaves are tough enough to carve into giving this plant its common name of 'autograph tree'. This plant is also one of the few varieties with the ability to absorb carbon dioxide efficiently at night making it a good addition for the bedroom.
The plant pictured to the right is fresh from our nursery and is an accurate indication of the size and quality that you will receive.
Please note: as standard our plants arrive in a plastic nursery pot and the ceramic pot pictured comes with an extra charge.

The Clusia is happiest in a bright room with as much sun as possible, though it can tolerate some levels of shade.
The plant is fairly drought tolerant so will forgve you if you forget to water it once in a while. Having it in a room with good humidty extends this margin for error even more. You should never let the soil dry out completely as this can damage the plant so should aim to water once a week.
Create humidty for this plant by either misting the leaves with a spray bottle or placing the pot in a dish with peppbles and water; the water will evoporate from the dish creating a humidity effect for the plant.
