An essential plant for any hanging collection

For those of us with a reputation for killing houseplants, a Chlorophytum could be our new best friend. The commonly named Spider plant, so named for its leaves that droop up and over the side of the pot like spider legs, is a great variety for beginners. It's an undemanding plant that can grow well in many different lighting conditions so can be placed anywhere in the home to add a splash of greenery. Because of their drooping leaves, these plants make excellent varieties for hanging baskets. Whether they're hung from a hook or curtain rail or sat on a high shelf, these plants will look very impressive with their leaves cascading down.

Sustainability is at the heart of our ethos and we have done everything we can to ensure that all of our products are as sustainable as possible, be it our plastic free, fully recyclable packaging, GM free seeds or ethically sourced compost.

Chlorophytum plants are very undemanding and can thrive in a variety of light conditions. They will be happiest in bright indirect light.

Water your Spider plant once a week making sure that the top layer of soil has dried out between waterings. When watering, allow the water to run right through the soil and out of the drainage holes of the nursery pot, leaving the water 10 minutes or so to sink through before returning to the display pot.
