An ancient tropical with great survival skills

The Zamioculcas is primaeval in its appearance and indestructible in its nature, making it a great houseplant for beginners. Though the debate is ongoing on whether it's a fern, a succulent or something else entirely, you can be certain that with this plant you'll be adding one of the oldest varieties of house plant you can purchase to your collection! A long history, means great survival skills and these plants are able to stand a little neglect. They only require watering once a fortnight and are perfectly happy in light shade meaning they can be situated anywhere in the home. Their distinctive feathered shape foliage makes them a stylish addition to home interiors and this variety comes in a dark shade of almost black. We believe that anyone, regardless of ability can successfully grow their own plants at home, and do so in an eco-friendly and sustainable way.

Everyone should have the chance to experience the benefits that plants bring to our lives, and we have put a lot of effort into making sure that all of our products are easy to grow, even for beginners.

Sustainability is at the heart of our ethos and we have done everything we can to ensure that all of our products are as sustainable as possible, be it our plastic free, fully recyclable packaging, GM free seeds or ethically sourced compost.

Originally from Tanzania, these plants store water like a succulent so it can survive even if you forget to water it once in a while.

A good soak once every two weeks is usually enough to keep it happy. Allow the water to run right through the soil and out of the drainage holes of the nursery pot, leaving the water 10 minutes or so to sink through before returning to the display pot.

Make sure that the top 2 inches of soil dry out between waterings and the frequency of your watering can be further reduced in the winter.
