These split hazel hurdles are an excellent alternative to more traditional garden fencing, and can also be used as garden screening or windbreaks. These panels can make your garden more visually interesting and can even be used as a base for climbing plants. The natural construction of these panels will guarantee that each panel is unique and also incredibly hardwearing. With regular treatment a hazel hurdle should last up to eight years in an ordinary garden.

Features

  • Durable and hardwearing hazel construction will withstand poor weather and strong winds
  • Can last up to eight years with proper care and wood treatment
  • Adds a unique and rustic feel to your garden
  • Can be used to hide unsightly features in your garden or make constructions like decks more visually interesting
  • Sold at a height of six foot, giving excellent screening coverage

Dimensions

  • Extra large W 180cm H 180cm (6ft).

Please Note: The height refers to the horizontal woven section - the vertical stakes sticking out at the top and bottom add up to an extra 6 inches.

These striking panels feature a unique pattern of split hazel rods to give your garden a traditional, rustic feel. Made entirely by hands by skilled craftsmen, these panels are sure to become a long-lasting addition to your garden. Perfect for disguising an old fence, hiding unsightly compost bins or for adding some extra privacy to your garden, these panels can be used free-standing or attached to existing garden fences, stone walls or arbours.

Please note: While the utmost care has been taken to ensure that colour and width is uniform, we cannot guarantee that all of the screening will be identical due to its natural construction. If the colour of your screening is not uniform, this is probably caused by moisture in the wood. After a few weeks of being in your garden, the screening will dry and weather and the colour will even out.

Warping or bending is also common in new hurdles due to the moisture retained in the materials. To resolve this, simply lay the hurdles flat in your garden for a few days where they will dry, relax and straighten out.

"The panels were nicely made (considering the uneven nature of the Hazel sticks), and look really good."

"Do not order product. Nothing like web description. Customers Services advised us to take to dump after refund received."

"Good, however we had to wait longer than expected for the hurdle fence panels to arrive. I rang to chase the order and it was said that there were only 2 in stock and that a further panel was awaited. I would have appreciated a call from Primrose, rather than having to have chased. The panels arrived 2 or 3 days later and we are pleased with them."

"The quality of the split Hazel Hurdles was appalling. Upon delivery they simply fell apart. This type of fencing has to be well made to survive for any length of time. I have had the same fencing for a number of years but this fencing was shocking."

Answer from Primrose: "Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the quality of these hurdles. It appears that you may have received a faulty product. We are glad you have been happy with the quality of this fencing previously, please contact customer services to discuss a replacement or a refund."

"...apart from one panel which was damaged at the end. The vertical support at the end of the hurdle had come away from the ends of the horizontal strands and proved to be quite difficult to put back in, especially when you have to part the strands alternately."

"Panel looks sturdy enough. It is now in place and I see that each hazel strip is not as thick in this panel as in the ones surrounding it, bought a few years ago. I hope it will be as effective and be durable."

"I was expecting the hurdles to be a bit better built for the money. That being said they are going to do what i want them to do.
I am not sure they will last very well though.
