The classic English blackcurrant variety
Once the main commercial variety in England the Baldwin is thought to be over 150 years old and is still grown today for its large, mild flavored, juicy fruit high in vitamin C. The medium sized compact shrub is good for fitting into the small garden and the fruit all tend to ripen at the same time which make harvesting easier and more satisfying.
Baldwin is a mid-late season variety, giving a heavy crop of medium to large fruit which carry a fantastic flavour.
