About your plant - Using environmentally friendly techniques and peat free compost, this Nursery based in South East England offers a great range of products including RHS award winning plants and an excellent service. They offer rare and unusual varieties as well as old favourites for your garden. Packaging- These plants will arrive in plastic pots in a cardboard box.
The Butterfly bush enjoys a sunny spot which is sheltered from cold winds. When planting in the ground, dig out with some well rotted compost and the root should be just below the soil surface. Water the plant well until it's established. The plants should be fine without watering after that, but you can add a layer of mulch each year for moisture. You can deadhead after flowering and this might promote more blooms. When pruning you can cut it back to its permanent stems in spring. The Butterfly bush is generally problem free but if the soil becomes waterlogged the roots can rot. To avoid root rot, plant them in a sheltered position or a raised bed.
