Popular in patio bedding and hanging basket displays, the diascia profusely blooms during the summer months. In appearance it is hooded with a single long petal which makes it look like it's sticking its tongue out. With two side petals protruding like horns, this is a delightfully cheeky addition to your garden!

Once established Diascia needs regular waterings during dry periods and are not heat tolerant. A sheltered spot is ideal. Water them generously and then leave them to dry out before watering again. Don't waterlog the soil as this leads to root rot. This plant enjoys a sunny but cool spot. Trim any old flowers and cut them back by around 4 inches if they stop blooming in summer months. Diascias thrive best in the cooler weather of spring and autumn. Raise the plants to prevent pests such as slugs and snails. They are generally disease free.
