Dracaena plants contain around 200 different varieties with some wild specimens growing to heights of over 50 feet! As houseplants, they are often easy to care for and great for beginners. Dracaena plants are happiest in light shade or filtered light as they can be susceptible to scorched leaves from strong direct sunlight.
Leave enough time between waterings for the top 2 inches of soil to dry out between waterings. Allow the water to run right through the soil and out of the drainage holes of the nursery pot, leaving the water 10 minutes or so to sink through before returning to the display pot. Make sure the plant never sits in stagnant water.
These plants love humidity so mist the leaves with a spray bottle regularly. brown tips on the leaves is an indicator of needing more humidity.
