The sensor detects movement up to 12 metres (40ft) away and emits a high pitched sound (silent to humans) in a wide 100 degree arc, which is pitched specifically at a fox's hearing frequency. The ultrasonic is thought to be effective at 18m (60ft). This means that the unit won't be activated until the fox is within 30ft, but once the fox turns and exits, it will still hear the noise up to 60ft away. Of course, as with all methods involving animal behaviour, we can’t guarantee effectiveness in every situation, however, our own experience and the feedback we get from customers suggests that this device is effective in almost all situations. If you need more advice on how to get the best out of the product, don’t hesitate to give us a call.

Unit height 14.5cm. Uses one 9 volt battery (optional) or a mains adaptor (available separately). The mains adaptor has 9m of cable, with an additional 10m also available. The cable is thin bell-wire type, meaning it can often be plugged indoors and slipped below some doors or windows. Because it's low voltage, the cable is fine for outdoors. The mains adaptor is the plug type (like most mobile phone adaptors, the adaptor is the plug), so this may make it impossible to fit into some outdoor sockets. Consider an outdoor electrical box.

Comes with a positioning stake, or can be attached to a nail in a fence. This repeller will also be audible to dogs.

Worked from day 1, got another for the front. Happy with my purchase. More...

Product: Foxwatch - 12 month trial results:-
Testers individual opinions:-

"The fact that I can put it out into the garden and forget about it is great. Foxwatch has kept my back garden clear of foxes for nearly a year now. They did come back at one point and on closer examination I found the Foxwatch had been turned off by mistake. Once I put it back on the foxes stayed away." - Mr Longman from Croydon.

"Anyone who has a problem with foxes has got to try a Foxwatch. It really does work. I found it easier to use the adaptor kit and run it from the mains than using a battery as I had to change it after 12 weeks. But the good news is I have not had to clean up around the dustbins for months." - Mr Williams from Saffron Walden.

"We had awful problems with foxes. We had just put down a new lawn and they kept pulling it up by running around the garden, as well as leaving some nasty mess to clean up. Since we put the Foxwatch in the garden the problem has stopped." - Mrs Bourner from Yarm.

"Please use this space to let us know what you think
After installing the alarm in where I thought would it would cover the best, I found fox prints on my patio. It may be that I need another one, but at this moment it did not deter my visitor(s). I have been away for two weeks so I will see how things are when I return.or leave blank if not applicable.

Primrose says: "Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with this FoxWatch Fox Deterrent. As with all products designed to alter animal behaviour, we cannot guarantee effectiveness in every situation. Having said this, it can take up to one month for this device to take full effect, it is important to remain patient and consistent with all methods of repelling animals from your garden."

"Did not keep foxes"

"This is my second FoxWatch. The previous one eventually succumbed to the elements in a very exposed location. It seemed to do what was intended. A fox's footprints in an arc from the FW in a snow covered field suggest that the effective range of the device correlates well with the specification."

"The first night I used the deterrent and the cable the foxes bit through the cable in 2 places so it is completely useless and an utter waste of money"

"Appears to be working well."

"So far only seen one fox in the garden and it did come very close to the deterrent and then left when I chased after it rather than because the deterrent worked.
After that incident, no foxes have been spotted in the garden & the giant hole they were digging in the lawn has finally been given the chance to remain filled & have new grass start growing on it. it's been in place about a week so I'm silently hopeful.
