Plant fuchsias in early summer, ideally in full sun, though it is happy in partial shade. Happy in most soils, just ensure it is not exposed to extremes where the ground is too wet or dry, and make sure the soil has good drainage. Fuchsias require little pruning, just remove any dead growth over winter to stimulate new growth, make sure not to prune any new growth that may be coming through the base of your shrub. Generally problem free they can be affected by a few pests, glasshouse whitefly, vine weevil grubs, and fuchsia gall mite are the main pests to affect it.
