Bench Dining Set FAQs

  • How do I care for my Bench Dining Set?

This can depend on the material of your seat. Different material has different requirements so that it can remain in the best possible condition.
Wood needs tender love and care when cleaned, so using a mixture of warm soapy water and a scrubbing brush, you can scrub away any dirt with circular motions. A little bit of bleach and warm water can be used for stubborn areas – just rinse off with fresh water.
Oxidation and rust are common with metal furniture, so a solution of one part vinegar and one part water can be used to prep the material. Just scrub it down with warm soapy water and a soft cloth. Make sure to dry it afterwards.
Plastic garden seats can go green with time – restore it to its natural colour with a mixture of one parts vinegar to two parts warm water, gently scrub it, and hose down. Bicarbonate of soda can be applied to stubborn areas. Dry afterwards.
  • Why buy a picnic table?

Picnic tables are great for friendly gatherings, where you don't mind getting close together, or family outdoor dinners where you want to make sure the kids are close by and can't collapse their outdoor seat. Once assembled they're good to go, with no removable parts that could get lost, broken or require storage. We'd recommend a furniture cover to keep it as maintenance-free as possible.
The sturdiness of picnic tables is one of their chief selling points. No moving parts means a reduction in wear and tear, so with a little bit of TLC your table could last beyond its warranty with ease. And if you're a DIY whiz, you can replace any failed pieces as they go and keep it ticking by forever.
They also look great, a timeless summer classic.
  • How to maintain cement table tops

(Note - all Pimrose Living Rustic sets come with a free pot of wax for easy meaintenance).
Cement is tough - there's a reason we make super solid surfaces using it like house bases and car parks. But that doesn't mean it doens't need the same care and attention you might give to wood or glass. To keep it clean, spray with a multipurpose cleaner, leave it for a few minutes, then wipe off with a sponge or cloth.
To keep it looking smooth, use wax every 2-6 months (applying more frequently in hot weather, less when cool). Apply the wax using circular motions, resulting in just a thin layer of wax deposit. Use one cloth to apply, then another to buff and remove the excess.
Work in sections, completing one buff before applying was to the next. Once you're done, admire your shiny work!
