Great Reedmace Variegated Typha latifolia variegata - 1L Pot

Typha latifolia, also known as Great Reedmace, Common Bulrush, or Cat o'nine tails, is a deciduous marginal water plant. This variety has cream striped variegated leaves. It is easy to grow and will tolerate most soil types. It has upright, strap-shaped leaves and can reach up to 2.5m in height, and in the summer it bears cream, terminal flower heads, and dark brown, sausage-shaped seed heads.

Planting

Typha latifolia variegata will tolerate most soil types, and thrives in boggy, poorly drained soil in full sun. It can be planted in a pond in a depth of up to 50cm. This plant is suitable for zones 1, 2 & 3 of a pond. Aquatic and marginal plants should be placed in pond plant baskets filled with aquatic soil (sold separately) and topped with a thin layer of gravel to help prevent the soil from washing away.

Caring and Maintenance

This is a low maintenance, easy-to-grow plant. Remove dead foliage and old flower stems in spring.
