To prevent degradation of the polytunnel cover at areas that come into contact with the frame you can apply Anti-Hotspot Tape. This tape is applied to the polytunnel framework where the cover comes into contact with it, these areas are at risk of damage due to friction and heat. The smooth surface of the tape allows the cover to be pulled easily over the framework without catching or tearing during construction or blustery weather and acts as insulation preventing hotspots.
This self adhesive foam tape is quick and easy to install and helps ensure you get the most out of your polytunnel year after year.
In a nutshell, this tape protects and prolongs the life of your polytunnel's cover by acting as an insulation between the metal and polythene sheet, preventing the build up of damaging hotspots.
