Six plants are carefully selected based on the time of year they are dispatched, guaranteeing that you receive the best plants to make the greatest impact in your garden. These plants have been picked to support and compliment each other, providing a subtle mosaic of pastels, jots of burgundy and eye catching yellow against a lush backdrop of green. These plants have also been selected for their variation and strength in length of stalks and coverage across water.

Common Cotton Grass - Eriophorum Angustifolium

This plant got it's name of "Cotton Grass" from the unique hairy texture of the white flowers. The stunning white flowers bloom in summer and will offer a dramatic contrast to darker foliage.

Golden Creeping Jenny - Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea'

The Golden Creeping Jenny is wonderful for topping your Pond in a Pot with its small golden green leaves and spreading coverage reaching a maximum of 1m. Striking cup shaped yellow flowers bloom across the Creeping Jenny in Summer which is a vigorous plant and easy to grow.

Water forget-me-not - Myosotis Scorpioides

The dainty sky-blue flowers have a distinctive central yellow eye in summer to autumn. They can reach up to 50cm in height, and their spread can extend up to 50cm. Myosotis Scorpioides makes the perfect plant for your Pond in a Pot collection.

Carnation Grass Carex Panicea

Add some slnder blue/green foliage and leaning stems to your Pond in a Pot with the Carex Panicea, ideal for small ponds and water features. Carnation Grass is semi-evergreen meaning that the plant foliage will remain green throughout mild winters.

Why Solar Power?

Solar power has made it even easier to run a water fountain in your garden without the need for an outside power supply. Some of the benefits of a solar powered water feature include:

  • The only requirement is that the solar panel is placed in a sunny area. Many solar water fountains now come with built-in rechargeable batteries that store energy so the fountain will still work when the sun doesn’t come out.

  • These units are much quicker and easier to install than mains powered features. There is no need to call out an electrician, no need to dig or lay cables, just choose a sunny spot and away you go.

  • You will have more versatility in the placement of your fountain than a mains powered option. If you have a specific place you’d like your fountain and it’s not near your house (for mains power) then solar is the best option.

  • Solar energy is better for the environment as it is a sustainable and renewable source of power.

  • Generally, solar-powered water fountains are lower voltage so could be considered safer than mains electricity if you have children playing nearby.
