H50cm Sphere Solar Stainless Steel Water Feature with Lights by Solaray

Made from grade 304 stainless steel, this feature will not rust and its great strength will allow it to survive outside in your garden for years to come. Comes complete with a solar panel to cut down on your energy costs. It will also save you from running an electrical wire out from the house. A back up battery will provide you with 8 hours of stored power, which is very useful considering the changeable weather we have in the UK. It is self contained, so simply add water to get the feature running. It has been finished with an integrated LED light that brings the feature to life at night. It will beautifully illuminate the water that bubbles out from the top of the sphere. A film of water cascades down and over the sphere to cover it completely, providing a constantly changing mirrored reflection.

Grade 304 Stainless Steel

Grade 304 is a high quality steel with excellent corrosion resistance. It ensures the strength of the sphere and it will not rust. The shiny surface of stainless steel reflects light beautifully, which works wonderfully when combined with the running water and LED lights.

LED Lights

LED lights create a truly memorable spectacle at night. The lights are situated at the highest central point where the water bubbles out, before cascading around the sphere.

Solar Panel with Battery Back Up

Running an electrical cable into your garden safely is quite a sizable task. The solar panel removes the need for this and it won't contribute to your energy bill either. A battery is also included, which will store some of that precious energy. Up to 8 hours of power can be stored so that if you have a cloudy day you can still utilise the previous day's sunlight.

Tips on Installation and Maintenance

A lot of water features come pre-assembled for the most part, with just a little hose/pump connecting to do before plugging it in to a solar panel or mains socket. Some of our bigger ones require wiring in a plug (which might involve a Part P Certified electrician), but otherwise all instructions will be included.

If you've got any questions, why not check out our Installation Guide for tips on installation location, power and even style tips!

To create our high specification, long-lasting water features, we use 304-grade stainless steel which contains high levels of chromium making it resistant to corrosion. Stainless steel is very resistant to rust because the chromium in the metal reacts with oxygen to form a protective layer. If this layer is broken down by mechanical damage or a powerful cleaning agent and rust does appear, simply remove the rust and the chromium oxide layer will reform. As well as it’s hard-wearing features, grade 304 stainless steel is perfect for both contemporary and classical water feature designs, the highly polished finish of stainless steel is great for reflecting light into shaded areas of the garden.

Why Solar Power?

Solar power has made it even easier to run a water fountain in your garden without the need for an outside power supply. Some of the benefits of a solar powered water feature include:

  • The only requirement is that the solar panel is placed in a sunny area. Many solar water fountains now come with built-in rechargeable batteries that store energy so the fountain will still work when the sun doesn’t come out.

  • These units are much quicker and easier to install than mains powered features. There is no need to call out an electrician, no need to dig or lay cables, just choose a sunny spot and away you go.

  • You will have more versatility in the placement of your fountain than a mains powered option. If you have a specific place you’d like your fountain and it’s not near your house (for mains power) then solar is the best option.

  • Solar energy is better for the environment as it is a sustainable and renewable source of power.

  • Generally, solar-powered water fountains are lower voltage so could be considered safer than mains electricity if you have children playing nearby.
