High-Power

This powerful pest device is designed specifically for large-scale environments such as pubs, offices, restuarants and hotels, meaning you can rely on this device to repel rats and mice from large areas. It has the same features as our Advanced Rat and Mouse Repeller - Whole House, but with a much more powerful ultrasonic frequency and three different settings.

How does it work?

Unlike many other repellers on the market the PestBye Whole House Rat and Mice repeller combines both ultrasonic and electro-magnetic technology.

Ultrasound is a loud noise at a high frequency: it's too high for humans and domestic pets to hear, but is thought to be audible to most rodents. We imagine that, for a mouse, it's like having a smoke alarm going off constantly.

Whenever electricity passes through a wire, an electromagnetic field is created: it has been suggested that electromagnetic fields create an environment where rodents are less likely to nest. Rodents are likely to move away from a house where they cannot nest.

How well does it work?

For every 1000 sold, we've had less than 2% returned as ineffective.

How quickly does it work?

We hope that most problems will disappear within a few days. However, if the rodents have already built a nest in your house, they are unlikely to desert their young until they are old enough to move

Fortunately, rodents mature quickly and the babies will be fully grown within a month. If you suspect that there is a nest in your house it may be worth using traps as well, but remember that traps alone do not provide a long-term solution to your problem (see Why not just use traps and poison?)

Settings Explained:

    Timing

(Hover over to see more detail)
Constant When first installing the unit, we recommend using the device on Constant Timing for 2 weeks, this will give a full blast of the ultrasonic treatment.

(Hover over to see more detail)
Random The random timing follows on from using the constant timing, this constantly turns the ultrasonic frequency on and off at different intervals which doesn't allow the pest to get used to the sound. This setting proves effective in the long term to keep pests at bay.

    Frequency

(Hover over to see more detail)
Fixed Frequency The fixed frequency setting emits a constant ultrasonic frequency which is audible to rodents, similar to the constant timing setting, it's worthwile leaving this on for 2 weeks from when you get the device. Again this will give a blast of the treatment and should prove to be enough to drive the pests away.

(Hover over to see more detail)
Variable Frequency Sometimes pests can be a little more stubborn, the variable frequency covers a wide range of frequencies ensuring that the unit will hit every possible hearing range of rodents. If after 2 weeks you're still seeing signs of the pest, we recommend changing to this frequency to cover all range of hearing.

Look, I'm really worried about these rodents - how can I make sure I get them out really quickly?

If money's no object then there's no doubt that the more you throw at the problem, the better. Combining 2 or more devices with single room-by-room ultrasonic devices should be more than enough to deter even the most established rodents. If you need further advice, we are always happy to help.

What other products do you sell? I really want a humane solution...

We stock a great range of Humane traps, both lethal and non lethal, to use with the 'Whole House' device

What about my pets?

Our Rat and Mouse pest repellers have not been found to affect cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, amphibians or children. The device may affect rodent pets such as gerbils, hamsters or chinchillas.

If you do have such a pet, it's advisable to rehouse them while the device is switched on - either outside/in a shed (at least 2m away from any wiring connected to the house) or with a friend or neighbour.

Where should I plug it in?

Either in the kitchen or alternatively where you see most rodent activity. If you want to find where the mice or rats are coming from then try using our Rodent Tracker Dust to ensure optimal placement of your repeller.

Why not just use traps or poison?

Traditional methods leave a lot to be desired. Poison is a danger to children, pets and wildlife. The rodents die in your walls and ceilings creating a bad smell and a potentially dangerous hygiene problem.

However, by far the biggest weakness of traps and poisons is that they very rarely provide a long term solution to your problem: as soon as you've killed a mouse or rat, you've created a vacancy for another one to move into your house. Because they breed so fast, it's very difficult to achieve a permanent solution using the expensive methods offered by your local council or pest controller: if you've had rats or mice once, the chances are that more of the beasts will frequently be sniffing around your property looking for a nice place to live. If you leave traps or poison, you're also leaving a highly-scented bait that will attract more rodents in.

Is it really safe?

Our Rat and Mouse pest repellers will not affect any electrical equipment like computers or burglar alarms.

Primrose says: "Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with this mouse and rat repellent. It can sometimes take time for repellants to have their desired effect - for example, if the pests have had babies, they are unlikely to leave their young or attempt to relocate from a warm environment.
