A classic Hyacinth variety, loved by gardeners for its rich purple, fragrant blooms
Hyacinthus orientalis 'Woodstock' is a popular springtime bulb that is perfect for adding resplendent colour to your garden with its deep purple, starry blooms. It looks especially beautiful when planted amongst primulas and pulmonarias, but can also be grown indoors in a pot where the strong floral fragrance will fill a room! Flowering in March and April, we feel Woodstock will make a real statement in your garden when planted in rows amongst pink and white flowering bulbs. Please note, Hyacinth bulbs can irritate the skin, so always wear gloves when handling.

It is best to make sure that you plant at the distance and depth detailed above. If too deep, the bulb may rot and the shoots emerge late. If too shallow, the bulb may emerge unevenly and have spindly growth.
Once shoots emerge, water thoroughly and regularly to encourage their growth. Fertiliser isn't essential, but it will help blooms to look their best. Simply apply a slow release fertiliser upon planting, or alternatively apply liquid fertiliser once the growing season begins.
Advice on hot and droopy plants
If your plants are looking a little wilted right now, don’t worry! Plants like to be filled with water to keep their structure, and when it’s hot that water evaporates.
Just give them an off-schedule watering and they’ll be right as rain in no time! Be careful not to flood them - plants don’t like extremes.
