Limestone Apollo Bust Statue H52cm
Apollo was a great and powerful deity, one of the leading figures in all of mythology. Young and handsome, he became best known for his oracles and for his interest in music. A twin of Diana, or Artemis, Apollo is represented here in the classical style of Phidias, the 5th century BC Greek sculptor. These statues are made using cast limestone with a surface texture similar to that of portland stone. In a number of important ways it is markedly superior, one of its greatest advantages being price, which, piece for piece, is normally significantly less than that of quarried stone. As well as for use in gardens, lawn, terraces, courtyards, borders and woodland, this statue can also be used in interior design schemes, in a hall, library, stairway or reception room.
