Magnolia Susan 10L

Abundant deep pink-purple goblet shaped flowers sprout from this upright deciduous tree. The Magnolia susan boasts dark burgundy buds during winter. When spring comes, beautiful twisted petals emerge, giving a pleasing contrast to the rich green foliage.

The Magnolia susan is best planted in moist and well-drained soil and can grow to four metres, making it a lovely addition for a small garden. As the flowers are frost sensitive they are best kept out of frost pockets and windy exposed spots.

RHS Award of Garden Merit

The Award of Garden Merit or AGM is an award made to garden plants by the British Royal Horticultural Society after a period of assessment by the appropriate committees of the Society. Awards are made annually after plant trials (which may last for one or more years, depending on the type of plant being trialled) at RHS Garden, Wisley and other RHS gardens, or after observation of plants in specialist collections. This is intended to judge the plants' performance for conditions in the UK.

"As I’ve only just planted it, and no surprise, don’t expect it to bloom quite yet as it is December, it is looking a very healthy strong plant. I bought another for my brother in law and it looked just as good a specimen as mine."

"Again, it looks healthy enough but time will no tell but as it is a gift, I won't know yet"

"I was so disappointed when I received my Magnolia Susan. The box it came in was battered. When I opened the box the magnolia was also battered and the leaves were all bruised. Eventually some of the leaves died off. I had bought the Magnolia Susan for my daughter-in-law who's name is Susan and could not give her this gift in the state it was in. After feeding the magnolia with high quality feed it eventually came back to life and looks how it should have been when I received it. A bit disappointed would be my comment. I don't think I will be ordering from Primrose again. Thank you."
