Pair of Chatsworth Lion Stone Statues
The originals of these lions were made by the sculptor Antonio Canova for the Rezzonico monument in St. Peters, Rome. Then they were commissioned by the 6th Duke of Devonshire, in 1862, for Chatsworth House in England. This means you sculpture has a long and impressive history.
These lions have been handcrafted to embody the regal bearing of the king of the jungle, the lion. Handmade in the UK with care and attention, the composite stone construction will weather beautifully through time and exposure to outside conditions. It will also attract lichen and moss, which will give it a sense of history and help it blend into your garden. Specifications
