Hygiene

To retain a happy and hygienic environment for the wild birds make sure they have an abundance of water. To avoid the spreading of bacteria and diseases make sure to keep the food fresh and dry and that the drinking and feeding areas are cleaned with a mild disinfectant.

Where to site

Site your feeder 2 metres from cover to make the feeder visible, whilst providing a safe place to retreat. Put out food at the start of the day to ensure that birds can replace the energy they have lost overnight.

Feeding

With food resources scarcer in winter, it is essential to feed garden birds all year round. Once you have started to feed the birds it is important to continue this, and develop a routine, as the birds will become reliant upon your help.

CalVita

Inside the bird food there is a supplement which is unique to Peckish, CalVita. The main purpose of CalVita is to provide wild birds with all the necessary minerals and vitamins they need to stay healthy. The calcium inside aids to the growth of bones and feathers and assists in the egg production. There are multiple vitamins A,D E and Biotin for the birds’ beaks and bones and which also help their growth and development. Finally, the supplement contains Carotenoids which protects them sunlight and retains and develops their feather colour.
