How does it work?

Unlike many other repellers on the market the PestBye Whole House Pest repeller combines both ultrasonic and electro-magnetic technology.

Ultrasound is a loud noise at a high frequency: it's too high for humans and domestic pets to hear, but is thought to be audible to most spiders. We imagine that, for a spider, it's like having a smoke alarm going off constantly.

Whenever electricity passes through a wire, an electromagnetic field is created: it has been suggested that electromagnetic fields create an environment where spiders are simply less comfortable.

How well does it work?

For every 1000 sold, we've had less than 2% returned as ineffective.

How quickly does it work?

We hope that most problems will start to reduce within a few days.

Settings Explained:

    Timing

(Hover over to see more detail)
Constant When first installing the unit, we recommend using the device on Constant Timing for 2 weeks, this will give a full blast of the ultrasonic treatment.

(Hover over to see more detail)
Random The random timing follows on from using the constant timing, this constantly turns the ultrasonic frequency on and off at different intervals which doesn't allow the pest to get used to the sound. This setting proves effective in the long term to keep pests at bay.

    Frequency

(Hover over to see more detail)
Fixed Frequency The fixed frequency setting emits a constant ultrasonic frequency which is audible to spiders, similar to the constant timing setting, it's worthwile leaving this on for 2 weeks from when you get the device. Again this will give a blast of the treatment and should prove to be enough to drive the pests away.

(Hover over to see more detail)
Variable Frequency Sometimes pests can be a little more stubborn, the variable frequency covers a wide range of frequencies ensuring that the unit will hit every possible hearing range of spiders. If after 2 weeks you're still seeing signs of the pest, we recommend changing to this frequency to cover all ranges of hearing.

Look, I'm really worried about these spiders - how can I make sure I get them out really quickly?

If money's no object then there's no doubt that the more you throw at the problem, the better. Combining 2 or more devices with single room-by-room ultrasonic devices should be more than enough to deter even the most established spiders. If you need further advice, we are always happy to help.

What other products do you sell?

We stock a variety of solutions, which can be used in combination with the 'Whole House' device, as well as the previously mentioned room-by-room ultrasonic only devices

What about my pets?

Our pest repellers have not been found to affect cats, dogs, birds, reptiles, amphibians or children. The device may affect smaller pets such as gerbils, hamsters or chinchillas.

If you do have such a pet, it's advisable to rehouse them while the device is switched on - either outside/in a shed (at least 2m away from any wiring connected to the house) or with a friend or neighbour.

Where should I plug it in?

Either in the kitchen or alternatively where you see most spider activity.

Is it really safe?

Our spider repellers will not affect any electrical equipment like computers or burglar alarms.

"I have not seen a spider in the room in which it is installed, but have had a few in other corners of the house. It has only been installed for 2 weeks, and the instructions do say that it may take this time for the spiders to leave, so hopefully my spider days are gone."
