Concrete Planters

Concrete planters can come heavily pocketed or smooth. The former arrive sand coloured - a classic mediterranean aesthetic - and are great for adding some rustic charm to your garden. Are concrete planters worth it?

Whereas wood or plastic planters may be susceptible to rot or weather damage, concrete planters tend to last far longer. As a result, they can often be seen as a more environmentally friendly option, as you’re less likely to have to replace broken planters.

What's more, because the planters are heavier, they offer more protection for your plants, as they’re less likely to be blown over.

Large concrete plant pots are more expensive than other planters but they remain usable over a longer time frame.

Will concrete planters crack?

The cold shouldn't affect concrete planters. Generally concrete is a long lasting material that is hard to break. Concrete that isn't conditioned properly or is thin in thickness can crack, but this shouldn't be the case with Primrose planters due to how they are manufactured.

Do concrete planters need drainage holes?

Yes! Even though concrete is a porous material, your planter will still need drainage holes to allow excess water to escape. All of our concrete planters come with in built drainage holes so your plants won't suffer from overwatering (unless listed otherwise on the product pages).
