This pH soil check kit is a simple and effective means of identifying the pH balance of soil, enabling you to plan and adjust your garden with confidence. All plants have a pH preference, which helps determine how well they utilise the nutrients available in the soil, meaning it is always important to be in touch with the pH of the soil you're working with.
Simply remove the capsule from tube before filling with a sample of soil from about 4in below the surface, open the capsule and pour the powder into the tube, add then water and shake - when the process is complete, compare the solution to the included pH colour chart.
The process of altering pH takes time; work steadily towards the ideal conditions using lime or sulphur, then re-test after approximately 30 days.
