Beech Hedging
Beech Hedging
Native to the UK, beech hedging is grown for its fantastic fluttery leaves. Changing in colour throughout the year, it will start bright green before turning coppery brown. Although formally deciduous its leaves will hold on until pushed off by new growth and can be great alternative to evergreen species if you want a broader spectrum of colours. A more recent cultivar, copper or purple beech is significantly darker than its cousin and the fantastic shaped leaves remain the same. Relatively fast growing, one can expect 30-60cm of growth a year.
