"A couple of pieces broken at the notch. I only found the screws by chance! Not quite as robust as I had imagined but will give it a try"

"Easy Load XL compost bins. 1. The delivery was excellent. It stated next day delivery, and that is what I got. They were a very large delivery, and delivery cost under 5 I think. 2. The price was the best on the web. They were half the price of the others I viewed. I ordered 4. 2. They had to be assembled. Each one took me about 2 hours to assemble. After the first one, it became easier of course except, sometimes the wood was badly cut or had cracks in that split when knocked into place with a rubber capped mallet. They did need knocking in, as the joining notches were often not cut well. As a result of badly split wood, or badly cut notches, I needed No Nails glue, a hacksaw (one blade broke), a rubber mallet and a drill (2 drill bits broke). It was a very difficult job and I recommend that you check the quality a bit better. There were no drill holes for the screws, so you have to line up the supporting sides and drill holes. Hard wrk all in all. That said, the bins were a reasonable price, so as long as they last the minimum of the 15 years stated, once I have forgotten the effort needed in assembling them, I am happy with the product. I have pictures of all the faults, together with the finished bins, but cannot find a way to attach them here."

"Thank you for prompt delivery. I am happy with the product itself, but the problem is: the front slats are impossible to remove. In fact, they were so tight that I could not assemble without hammering them in with great difficulty. I thought that the whole point of this design was to make the front panels removable for easy access -- is there anything you can suggest to make it usable? Will be grateful for advice!"

"The compost bin assembly was relatively straight forward and well designed. The package was delivered quickly. However my particular item had clearly been left out in the rain for some time while either in storage and/or being shipped. As a result the cardboard packaging was significantly degraded and so failed to protect a number of the wooden slates from being damaged at their corners. Some of the wood slates had also got a mildew on them from the dam conditions. Fortunely these defects proved to be cosmetic but had they not been then returning the product in the original packaging would not have been possible as it fell in to a pile of soggy bits during unpacking. "This is a good product but it is better to use your own common sense to assemble it as the instructions were written by someone living in cloud cuckoo land. They could hugely improve the product by providing a plastic spacer template. This would be useful for people assembling it on their own or who have little experience of diy."
