Prunus 'Pink Perfection' Cherry 15L Half Standard

The aptly named Pink Perfection is an elegant and graceful cherry blossom tree. Its slender and pendulous branches slightly meander towards alluring double blooms, pale pink in colour. Its alluring delicately rigid foliage at a young age show shades of bronze and light green, before turning into rich bursts of orange and red in the autumn.

The Pink Perfection is thought to be the 'offspring' of the larger and louder Prunus Kanzan. But unlike the Kanzan, the Pink Perfection is much more slender and delicate in aesthetics. It maintains all the visually pleasing qualities of its 'parent', but takes up much less space, making it ideal for gardens with limited room.

This particular tree is one from our mature ornamental tree range. If you want a substantial flowering cherry in your garden, but don't want to have to wait too long for it to grow, then this is a great option for you. This tree is already over 2 meters in height and has a crown of multiple, good sized branches already developed. Pictured in early spring, you can see buds already formed which will produce a good display of blossom this year and a display that will grow and grow over the years.

As a 4 year old tree, this cherry already has a good root base established. However, the tree will require some attention for the first year as it recovers from the transplant shock, so regular watering is advised. Strong growth will resume after this period, and you should see your tree edging towards an impressive stature over the next 5-10 years.

We deliver straight to you door, which is just as well because this huge tree wouldn't fit in most vans, let alone the average family car. And the best thing about this is, we only charge £5 for delivery, and you'll have your tree within 2-3 working days of ordering - no one else on the web offers a service like this for trees of this size!

  • Planting Distance: 6m minimum

Suited to almost all well-drained and moderately fertile soils with pH between 4.5 and 7.5 in a sheltered, full sun or partial shade location.
Before planting your tree, clean up all wandering weeds and keep a clean ring around the tree base. Water well during the first year until well established.

Autumn is the best season for planting trees, as the soil moisture and heat allow easier and faster root establishment and regeneration of damaged root systems.

RHS Award of Garden Merit

The Award of Garden Merit or AGM is an award made to garden plants by the British Royal Horticultural Society after a period of assessment by the appropriate committees of the Society. Awards are made annually after plant trials (which may last for one or more years, depending on the type of plant being trialled) at RHS Garden, Wisley and other RHS gardens, or after observation of plants in specialist collections. This is intended to judge the plants' performance for conditions in the UK.
