About your plant - Using environmentally friendly techniques and peat free compost, this Nursery based in South East England offers a great range of products including RHS award winning plants and an excellent service. They offer rare and unusual varieties as well as old favourites for your garden. Packaging- These plants will arrive in plastic pots in a cardboard box.
The cistus does well when planted in spring as they are able to establish their roots in moist, warm soil. They don't like being moved so be sure to choose a 'forever home' for your plant. Make this 'home' sheltered from the wind as well as frost pockets and large enough to accommodate them. They don't respond well to hard pruning if they outgrow their space and regrowth won't be likely. When planting, digging in organic matter such as leaf mould will improve the quality of the soil and help the plant grow. Water newly planted blooms regularly, then after the first year you'll only need to water them during droughts. Deadhead by hand once established, new flowers are produced each day and this plant blooms profusely throughout summer. Cistus do not suffer from many pests or diseases, it will most likely be unsuitable conditions or over pampering them that makes them grow less abundantly.
