Planting

  • Planting Distance: 8m

Suited to almost all well-drained and moderately fertile soils in either an exposed or sheltered location with either full sun or partial shade.
Before planting your tree, clean up all wandering weeds and keep a clean ring around the tree base. Water well during the first year until well established.

Autumn is the best season for planting trees, as the soil moisture and heat allow easier and faster root establishment and regeneration of damaged root systems.

This is an example of our polypot - note the fruit/ornamental trees we stock will vary in appearance according to species and season.

"When I ordered the tree it didn't say delivery time for them.
I phoned and was told it would be march next year for delivery! As it is a birthday present I asked to cancel my order. A nice chap phoned me back to day they had tree in stock!!! And delivery would be next day if I was still interested, so I took him up on offer and tree arrived following day and is doing very nicely indeed.

"I was a little wary of ordering a tree online since you can't choose the particular one that you prefer, but the tree that I was sent is lovely - a very good specimen and a well balanced shape. I would be happy to order from Primrose again."
