Fully waterproof, battery or mains powered sonic deterrent. With PIR motion sensor.
When a fox enters your garden, the motion sensor triggers a 25 second burst of ultrasound to repel it. Ultrasound is a very loud noise at a high frequency - foxes find it extremely disturbing, but the noise is too high for most humans to hear.
Why the motion sensor? The Fox Repeller comes complete with an infra-red (PIR) motion sensor which turns the device on when a warm body enters the controlled area. This has an important purpose other than saving battery life: researchers have found that animals can become desensitised to the noise if they realise that random sounds are not associated directly with their presence in the controlled area. With the motion sensor, the fox learns to associate the noise with its own movement, and is much less likely to become accustomed to the noise. Of course, as with all methods involving animal behaviour, we can’t guarantee effectiveness in every situation, however, our own experience and the feedback we get from customers suggests that this device is effective in almost all situations. If you need more advice on how to get the best out of the product, don’t hesitate to give us a call.BatteriesRequires six 1.5V (AA) batteries.Battery life depends on how many times the device is activated, but they typically last 3-4 months assuming 10 activations per day.Batteries aren't supplied as standard, but we can supply 6 x 1.5V (AA) Duracell LR6: (see options above) What area does it cover It covers a 98 degree arc, to a distance of up to 40ft (12m), giving a total unobstructed working area of 1200sq ft (120sq m). Need to cover a larger area? - Consider the Cat Repellent 100 (mains-powered only) £19.95, with an operating range of 100ft (30m). Unlike most repellers this unit is designed with a contemporary feel to suit any garden. Mounted on an aluminum stand, it can be both fixed to the floor with the use of a spike (also included) or alternatively removed from the stand and wall mounted (again, fixings included).
Occasionally, children and some adults may be able to hear this device. If this happens it will usually only occur while children are in the garden and there's an on-off button that can be used if required.
Power Options: Powered by 6 x AA batteries (not included - see options), or alternatively there is also an optional mains adapter available - CLICK HERE

"The item stopped the badger digging in front of it but he just moved to the other side. So the item works OK but the badger is too clever for it.Could do with having a bigger pick up area for the motion detector maybe."

"Doesn't repel foxes at all. Have seen them standing nonchalantly right in front of the device. And we were warned by experience of previous sonic repellent devices (with mice in that case) that they are not effective."

"Very effective ... our CCTV showed that it even made the fox that bothers us panic and drop his prey and run. He made two attempts to come back and recover it - and both times was scared off again. He gave up!"

"The repeller did not work on the first night ie signs indicated that the fox had returned. The second night was much better but although the repeller was switched off during the day, the 6 batteries had worn out during the third night! If the batteries need replacing every three nights, the repeller will become a very expensive tool!! I am not therefore very impressed."
