What's the difference between the types of willow screening?
Classic willow screening is woven together with full knots, which allows more light through. The willow canes are between 5-15mm thick (usually about 7mm) and wired together with galvanised metal loops.
Premium willow screening is woven together with half knots, for a much tighter weave. The willow canes are also between 5-15mm thick, but are fresher, more consistent and uniform. It is wired with galvanised metal loops, but the gaps between canes are smaller. The canes are also air dried, making this a more environmentally friendly option.
Split willow screening is also made with full knots. Each cane is split vertically to give contrasting textures on the screen. The average thickness is 5mm and the canes are held together with galvanised wire loops. Split willow screening is exclusive to Papillon.
