Overview

A lovely, evergreen fern that is both eye-catching and versatile. Each spring fresh new tongue-like fronds unfurl, creating upright clumps which look super dotted through a woodland floor. It is also valuable for adding vertical interest towards the front of a partially shaded border or for underplanting established trees and shrubs. Once established, it becomes more tolerant of dry soil.

Care guide

Plant into soil that has been improved with organic matter and water regularly during the growing season. Do not allow the soil or compost to dry out until the plant has become established. Tatty or damaged fronds can be removed in early spring as or just before the new growth emerges.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Larger pots (2L and above) are wrapped in waxed paper and then attached to a cardboard base so they stay stable in the box. The waxed paper prevents the compost from spilling out and gives the base some added protection from damp compost. For large numbers of plants, pallets may be used for shipping.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
