Overview

Piercing blue autumn flowers. The slender red stems of this low spreading, woody perennial are clothed in bright green leaves, which take on spectacular red shades in autumn before they fall. They are mainly grown however for their vivid blue flowers, which form in small clusters from late summer to mid-autumn. A superb plant for adding late colour to the front of the border, it will become drought tolerant once established.

Care guide

In early or mid-spring cut back the flowered shoots to within 2.5cm (1in) of the old growth. After pruning apply a generous 5-7cm mulch of well-rotted garden compost or manure around the base of the plant.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
