Overview

Great in pots, or on the woodland floor. Forming an attractive carpet of colourful foliage in partial shade, this decorative perennial also produces sprays of small white flowers in late spring and early summer. The scalloped foliage develops to a rich burgundy-brown with a slim, lime green border as it matures, and it may be retained throughout the year in milder winters. A wonderful container plant, it will also look attractive as an understory plant on a woodland floor.

Care guide

Remove tatty foliage in autumn. Lift and divide clumps every couple of years in early autumn and replant with the crown just above the surface of the soil. Apply a generous 5-7cm (2-3in) mulch of well-rotted organic matter around the crown of the plant in spring.

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.

Typically plants are delivered ready to plant and will take some time to settle, grow and look more like the product image above.
