Overview

This vigorous bidens almost glows with its embers of golden yellow and amber-orange tips. 'Bee Happy Red' produces new flowers to grow over the top of used-up flower heads, so it always looks fresh and colourful. Excellent for attracting pollinators, such as bees and butterflies, to your pots and borders from summer through to the first frosts of autumn.

    Care guide

  • Garden care: Deadheading regularly will prolong the flowering season - as will feeding with a high potash fertiliser from late spring to midsummer. Apply an insulating layer of mulch around the base of the plant (avoiding the immediate crown) in autumn, or move potted plants to a sheltered spot for winter. Avoid excessively wet conditions in winter.

    Pots and Packaging
    Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

    Preparation
    The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
