Overview

A compact, clump-forming and architectural perennial forming stiff spikes of tubular deep-orange red flowers that fade to tangerine as they age. Rising above arching, linear, dark-green leaves and lasting well into autumn, the 'red hot pokers' of 'Poco Sunset' look especially good in tropical-themed gardens, adjacent to water, and in naturalistic plantings alongside Achillea, Rudbeckia, and Helenium.

Care guide

In autumn remove and compost the faded flower spikes and apply a deep, dry mulch around the crown of the plant. Divide and replant overcrowded colonies in spring.

How your order will arrive

Pots and Packaging
Our 9cm pots are given extra packaging to protect the plant. This extra packaging consists of a recyclable plastic blister pack which is then placed in a cardboard box for delivery.

Preparation
The nursery will ensure the plant is moist while it's waiting to be picked up. Our quality control team waters the plant before packing them where necessary to make sure that the plant is suitably watered for transport. Plants with long delicate stems are secured with canes to prevent damage.
